Anti-establishment

I hope it isn't becoming a trend.

We have had past isolated cases of apparent insubordination, but now it's becoming something "in" for people with no fear to do. Does this not remind me of suicide terrorism? I have no idea.

However, one thing I must say is that this form of anti-establishmentarianism will go nowhere. C'mon, it's like throwing stones at some massive building. Yes, dents and scratches, the public will react, more voices would start appearing etc; but Security would take you in before you even manage that.

To wreck an establishment beyond repair, one must join it from the bottom and work his way up the hierarchy (if applicable). Once at the top (or any sizable position, preferably vice-top), he would then proceed to tear the system down from the roots, having planted mines and bugs everywhere on his way up.

Now, if the act of joining the system disgusts you, you probably aren't extreme enough. Go home and get sober.

April

It's time to spend another April in Singapore, not braving freezing weather and not evading internet blockades.

Such is life

Merger

Heads, I boot into Ubuntu; Tails, OSX; If it lands on an edge I'll boot into Windows

March 14

Of course, being hexagonal and all, the ratio of the "circumference" to the "diameter" is 3:1, but \care/

Also, being non-American and all, it's 14/3 not 3/14. Of course, it is 3月14日.

This is going to have an irregular schedule, so don't spam refresh. Just use RSS :D

Why Goto is bad for code

Hey, xkcd.com/391

This can't be good

Thanks to gnakgnim for the tablet!

overloaded

I suppose I can't complain, given that others have had more work piled up on them and yet they were still able to cope. How I wish the "don't compare with others" quip can be used here.

But mechanical projects are inherently different, I suppose. Let alone 2 of them (Robocup2010 and Quadcopter). I just hope one doesn't die just because of the other.

I'm scaring myself silly as I'm actually doing homework (goshes). If not for my random nature I couldn't have attributed it to anything.

The last batch we'll be seeing has come, let's hope they can survive their cycle of 长江后浪推前浪. I wish them the best of luck.

I've suspected this long ago, but it's just recently confirmed that my name has spread further than I have. I wouldn't think it is that good of a thing, but me being the Machiavellianistic person I am would have Xanatosed a scapegoat already.

There's been lots of Chekhov's guns and gunmen around me recently. I just hope I ain't being a big Xanatos sucker this year.

It is no surprise

that this is rather dead.

Of course, given that this would be (generally) a year of suck, I shall take care.

My thoughts swim freely, coming and leaving as they please. Without a whole integrated human interface device* (ironically making me less human) on me at all times, I don't really want to jot down every single thing I think. My rationale is that if it is important enough it would pop up again sometime later.

*Eyetaps, coupled with some air keyboard, a microcomputer and a near permanent connection to the internet.

Also, the sale is still ongoing, with the addition of Catalogue2

X'mas

I still don't get it.

It's being this massively commercialized day of the year. The only day other than your birthday you would expect to recieve presents from relatives or friends.

Of course I'm not trying to be a wet blanket and trying to ruin the spirit of which does not really exist in me, but I don't know why there is this wall between me and this so called festive occasion. Other than the songs of course.

Also, Santa is not a very well recieved image I've heard. Or maybe I've been hearing from the wrong people. The only way I see the day being spent is like how it is in A Christmas Carol, and usually my day would be spent watching all the different versions of that, including Disney and Looney Tunes.

However, any excuse to wish someone a good day is a good excuse.

Happy 25/12 (and it's still the eve, as of posting time).
